‘Politics and religious ideology should not intrude into science’

Noble laureate Venkatraman (Venki) Ramakrishnan has been chosen as the President of the Royal Society, London. Dr. Ramakrishnan is the first Indiaborn scientist to be elected President of the Royal Society. Royal society of London has a long tradition of illustrious Indian Fellows with it starting with Ardaseer Cursetjee, a Parsee engineer and industrialists who became a Fellow in 1841.
