FORETHOUGHT OF PERIYAR-NO LONGER A DREAM BUT A REALITY

A young team of Engineering students of the National University of Singapore have recently invented an electric powered aircraft, capable of a vertical take-off and a smooth landing. Presently this is not meant to be a mode of routine travel and transportation. This is devised for a recreational purpose for a single person to fly for about five minutes.
May be possible in the days to come to make it better both in its load-bearing capacity and also in making it operational for a long time. The team of young and budding scientists hope that the coming year will bring their Lilliputian machine to commercialisation.

DELUGE IN CHENNAI AND CUDDALORE AREAS IN TAMILNADU

HUMANISTIC AND EMPATHETIC ANDEAVOURS AND RESCUE OPERATION OF DRAVIDAR KAZHAGAM

The flood havoc caused by the torrential rain in Chennai City, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and the surrounding areas, Cuddalore coastal belt and the nearby areas was exposed to nightmarish experience during the first week of December and November 2015. Leaving the belongings in their homestead as such and getting rescued from the rain water despite immersion of their residence was itself arduous task to many. It was painful to see people only with their dress on, devoid of   daily earning avenue, after leaving the family in some location and asking for financial help in Chennai City. Savage rain dented the self-respect of the aggrieved individuals. The admirable positive human trait emerged as spontaneous help to the suffering fellow humans by every individual both physically and financially. Humanism prevailed among the humans at the hour of crises, the alike of which had happened in Chennai city roughly hundred years back.

Much ado has sprung into action in the wake of promulgation of the judgment  in respect  of writ filed by 7 Battacharyaas of Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple of Madurai in No. 354 of 2006 against the validity of G. O. M. S. No. No. 118 dated 23.05.2006 issued by the then Government of Tamil Nadu with regard to the Scheme of training Archakar from all castes. I am one among the respondents in the case. Though the judgment  has been long awaited with much expectancy from both sides of the petitioners and by the people of interest with tension, it came, as could be understood in the worldview, as a bolt from the blue in the morning on 16.12.2015, much hotter in contrast to the extremely heavy rain fall that recently subverted Chennai topsy-turvy.
