GREAT LOSS TO THE DRAVIDIAN JOURNALISTIC FRATERNITY!
With a very heavy heart we record the sad demise, of one of the pillars of Periyar Movement, in a tragic road accident, on 12th May 2014 in Chennai. His untimely death has dealt a severe set back to the Dravidian journalism. 44 is not an age to be associated with death of a very brisk, enthusiastic and genuine journalist in the true path of Periyar.
His ever smiling face and a gentlemanly demeanour have earned for him a very huge following and a host of journalistic family both from the movement and outside it. A big crowd came in procession to pay last tribute to his body kept at the Periyar Thidal, Chennai which is an ample evidence to his popularity and greatness of this ardent follower of Periyar.
The loss is all the more damaging and irreparable to the Periyar Movement as Periyar Socrates has been associating with the Movement for many years in promoting the principles of Rationalism and Self Respect of Periyar through the journalistic mission, very effectively. His dynamic performance will be forever missed by all of us .
Words cannot comfort his dear ones but time alone can heal the wound. We express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and the cadres of the Movement.
President, Dravidar Kazhagam
